Important 2003 Bare Buns Fun Run Event Information

Kaniksu Ranch is member owned and operated as a not for profit corporation in the State of Washington. The Original Bare Buns Fun Run has been an annual event since 1984.

CLOTHING OPTIONAL:
The race is sponsored by Kaniksu Ranch Nudist Park. (see location map) This does not mean your running clothes must be left at the gate. "Clothing Optional" means just that. It is your option! You don't have to run nude. However, this race will have many nude participants and officials.

NO CAMERAS OR VIDEO CAMS:
Kaniksu Ranch permits cameras for staff and press only. Unauthorized cameras will be confiscated, the media removed and the camera returned after the event. We embrace this policy so race participants may enjoy the "clothes-free" option without fear of unwanted publicity.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
5 Kilometer, wheel-measured over unpaved road (pressed gravel surface) through scenic forest. Out and back course, generally sloping down outbound, generally uphill on the return. Split start on separate roads first 1/8 mile. Times called at 1 and 2 miles out, and 1/2 mile from finish. Display clock and computer-timing at finish. Elevation about 2700 feet.

RACE TIMING:
Kaniksu Ranch is proud to have the Bloomsday Road Runner's Club timing The 'original' Bare Buns Fun Run.

AWARDS:
Division winners, both male and female in clothed, nude and wheelchair divisions, will be awarded first through third place. First through third place awards will be awarded in each age group, both male and female. Division winners will not be eligible for age group awards. * Note: All finishers, five years of age and younger, will be awarded a finisher ribbon.

T-SHIRTS:
Finisher Shirts: Runners will be directed to one of two T-shirt distribution areas after crossing the finish line. The Clothed finishers will receive a "FINISHER" shirt, Nude finishers will receive the coveted "NUDE FINISHER" shirt. To help us estimate the number of each shirt required, please circle the non-binding YES/NO/MAYBE indicator for nude runners on the Race Entry Form. Event shirts are available to runners and non-runners as a memento of the event. NOTE: Entries postmarked after July 4 will receive finisher T-shirts after the event. NO EXCEPTIONS

RACE PACKETS AND BIBS:
Race packets and bibs will be issued at Kaniksu Ranch on race weekend beginning Friday afternoon, July 25. Note: There will be no mailing of race packets.

WATER AND AID STATIONS:
Two water stations are located on the racecourse with a post race beverage station at the finish line. Stevens County Fire District #1, Station 2 and the Deer Park Ambulance Service provide emergency medical aid.

MEALS AND DANCE:
Meals will be available at Kaniksu Ranch throughout the race weekend. A no cover charge dance will be held following the Saturday night Carbo Load. All runners and guests of Kaniksu Ranch are invited. NOTE: The dance is 'not' open to the general public.

START TIME:
SUNDAY, JULY 27, 2003 - 9:30 A.M.

ENTRY FEES:
Postmarked No later than July 3 - ($18.00) if postmarked July 4 or Later - ($25.00) Entry fees cannot be returned. NOTE: A parent or guardian must accompany runners under 18 years of age.

SPECIAL NOTE:
If the gate to Kaniksu Ranch is locked, the combination will be 2-0-0-3. The race weekend combination is 'always' the current year.
