My husband claims his toe is broken after our Great Dane accidentally ran over it!!
If this is true that will make it the 8th time in his life, which I find difficult to believe.
Please could you let me know how to tell if his toe is truly broken. Greatly appreciated,
On the field, if we suspect a fracture, we tap the bone with a reflex hammer, or hold a tuning fork to a boney prominence - (the vibration makes the bone hurt as the periostium vibrates). But the way to tell if it is really broken is to have an x-ray (shows 50% change in bone density) or a bone scan (shows a 2% change in bone density). Either way, tell him to avoid the dog!
