I have a bunion on my foot that has been causing me minor to severe pain for the past two and a half months. During that time, I have taken time off and bought different shoes, yet the problem still lingers. I am relatively new to running (two and a half years), yet enjoy it and do not want to give it up. I am only sixteen and would like to enjoy running for many more years of my life. What can I do to lessen or eliminate this pain?
Bunions can be a real bummer. There are various bunion pads that are available from your local pharmacy that might help. Also, orthotcs might help - depending on the cause. I suggest that you seek the advice of a local podiatrist - often bunions require surgery, and having a podiatrist keep an eye on it for you would be a good idea. Good luck - I think it is great that you are into running at such a young age, keep it up!
