About 6 weeks ago I was running when i felt a slight discomfort in my
hamstring. I thought nothing of it and carried on but later that day it
started to hurt and by the evening i could barely walk so I took a week of
running icing it and stretching and massaging it. About after a week it felt
fine so I decided to hit the road again however later in the day I felt
discomfort in my lower back and glutes (on the left side the same side as
the injured hamstring)
Well as a college student it was nearing the christmas period so I decided
not to run during the holidays and rest it.
One month later I returned to University with slight discomfort in that area
(after 4 weeks) but I went for a run and the pain has come back. I would
like to know what the problem is and how it is best healed.
Thanks
Fahad
Fahad - get your back checked out. It sounds like you have disc herniation in your lower back, and the pain in your hamstring is referred. This is not unusual for people to experience when starting with back pain. Have a manual therapist - preferably one who is Norwegian trained check you out.
Good luck
Neil
