Hi,
I have a pain in the ball of my foot (big toe), feel like walking on a stone. There is a small, hard, mobile nodule there. Also when walking/running/crouching a shooting pain runs up the big toe. Strange thing though, this toe pain reduces when barefoot. X-ray was normal. Could this be Morton's neuroma? It doesn't fit into that profile exactly-no numbness and not much of a burning sensation. There is no pain when I am at rest.
Curious...
sounds like something is swollen in there - it feels like a stone, but most likely just inflammed. Bare foot, you feel better since the foot isn't confined, and the tissue can spread out around the swelling.
Try ice and elevation.
