I read your response to Vitor re ORIF and his return to running, advice I will take as well. I am having the same experience (date of injury - Feb 4/09; surgery Feb 5/09 - two screws tibia, plate & screws fibula) with a plan to remove hardware Feb/10. Recovery is well to date, but I would like to prepare for running. I am currently walking, minor strength training (work on the Bosu, machine weights). Any other suggestions?
Cathy, you might consider pool running - ist a good way to get the motion and the muscles "tuned up" as a good for of exercise in preparation for running.
