Not sure who is in charge, but somehow the
women's results of the Tulip 10K in Burlington went seriously wrong. My friend and WCC
second place finisher in collegiate cross country, Beth Mulligan, is pretty sure she won the race in 39:17, as she is properly listed. There are however three women in front of her,
one of whom ran what looks to be a national class
time of 33:57. None of the male runners in the top 10 saw any inkling of these women. From the looks of other results from area races, the three women all PR'd by about 30 minutes or so for the distance. Unbelievable, yes. I don't think anyone is to blame. Likely, since the start was postponed, they likely started at the real start time of 10:00 instead of the revised start time some 20 minutes later. Or possibly, they started in the 3 mile group by mistake and ran that course to the same finish. I don't know. I just know that my friend saw no women on the course in front of her and likely won the race and didn't get recognized.
I hope you can get this to the right people.
