Right, We haven't been able to let this one go either. Further investigation leaves us standing by the times and order of finish through the chutes. The question is whether the first four women to cross the 10k finish line actually ran the 10k. They were wearing 10k numbers, but did they only run the 3 mile? Three of these women are in our master data base with a running history which suggests they are not capable of finishing a 10k in anywhere near the times at which they were clocked. The fourth is an unknown. And perhaps Carol did not realize she was being listed as the 10k winner when the race director called her. I think he only asked her about her time and pace. The call here is up to the race director, not Flying Feet. We will reprocess and repost results if that is his decision. The new evidence strongly suggests that Beth Mulligan was at least second, if not first, with a time of 39:17.
