Important event information for the Halloween Marathon/Footraces & Triathlon/Duathlon & Kids mini-tri, October 12, 2008
| TIME: | Footraces: 10:30 a.m. Over 5 hour marathoners can start 1 hour early. TRI/DU: 2:30 p.m. Kids race 4:45 p.m.

| PLACE: | Elma, WA @ Vance Creek Park

| DISTANCE: | Footraces: 26.2, 13.1, 6.2, 3.1, 1 miles Triathlon: 250 meter swim, 13 mile bike, 3 mile run. Duathlon: 2 mile run, 13 mile bike, 2 mile run. Kids race: 25 yard swim or wade, 3/4 mile bike, 1/4 mile run

| COURSE: | The marathon, half-marathon, 10 miles, 10k, 5K & 1 mile are all out and back all flat on paved, scenic, paved country roads. There will be porta potties on the course along with aide stations, with water, gatorade and gel/food. TRIATHLON/DUATHLON: Swim: Out and b
ack in a small man made lake, water tempsin the low 60's, wetsuits are recommended but not required. Bike: Out and back all flat on scenic, paved, country roads with few turns. Run: Out and back all flat on paved, country roads with aide stations every 1 1/2 miles with water and gatorade. All cou
rses are great for beginners or veterans.

| AGE GROUPS: | 0-5, 6-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 up. Also team divisions of male, female and co-ed.

| AWARDS: | All marathon finishers will receive a trophy and a medal. Overall winners of all footraces will receive trophies. Top 3 in 5 year age groups in all footraces will receive halloween neck medals. Top 7 overall male and female in the triathlon will receive trophies.
Top 3 in male and female in the duathlon will receive trophies. Top 3 in 5 year age groups will receive neck medals. If you don't receive an age group award you will be given a finisher medal. Also team divisions of male, female and co-ed for the

| T-SHIRTS: | All entrants will receive a 100 percent cotton short sleeve t-shirt unless the no t-shirt option is checked. You can also order an extra short sleeve shirt, tank top, long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt. You can also upgrade to a tank top, longsleeve shirt or sweat shirt. Sizes are adult/child small, medium, large, XL. |
| DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS: | From the north on I-5 go south to Olympia and take hwy 101 north, follow to hwy 8 and head west towards the ocean. Go to Elma and take the second exit (Vance Creek Park) and take a left over the freeway and turn right on Wenzelslough road. Follow to
park a 1/4 mile on the right. From the south on I-5 go north and take exit 88B (Aberdeen) and go west on hwy 12 and follow to Elma. Upon entering
Elma turn left on hwy 8 and take the next exit. Go left over the freeway and turn right on
Wenzelslough road. Park is 1/4 mile on the right side.

| OTHER INFO: | 10th annual halloween event moved to elma for a flatter course and to add a triathlon. Lots of postrace food and quality awards. Results will be posted at www.ontherunevents.com and www.nwrunner.com.
