Important event information for the Memorial Day Classic, Monday, May 30, 2005

TIME: 9:00 a.m.
PLACE: Elma, Wa @ Vance Creek Park (see map)
DISTANCE: 10K, 5K & 1 mile
COURSE: All races are out and back all flat with no hills at all. Aide stations every 1/2 miles with water, gatorade and gel. This course is excellent for a personal record. WALKERS ARE OK IN ALL EVENTS.
AGE GROUPS: 0-5, 6-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 & 70 up.
ENTRY FEES: See entry form. Online sign up at www.signmeup.com/51442 and www.active.com 

Packet pickup and day of race registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and goes until 8:45 a.m. at the start/finish area.

 

AWARDS: Overall winners in all races will receive trophies and be bumped from age groups. Top 3 in 5 year age groups will receive memorial day neck medals. NOTE: If you don't receive an age group award, you will receive a finisher medal.
T-SHIRTS: All entrants will receive a designer Memorial Classic multi-color short sleeve shirt, unless the no-shirt option is checked. You can also upgrade to a tank top, long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt. You can also order an extra short sleeve shirt, tank top, long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt. All garments are 100 percent cotton and are preshunk. Sizes are small, medium, large, extra large and 2xl.
DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS: From the north go south on I-5 to Olympia. Take Hwy 101 north. Follow to Hwy 8 and go west towards the ocean. Follow to Elma and take the second exit. Turn left and go over the freeway. Turn right on Wenzelslough road. Park is a 1/4 mile up on the right. From the south head north on I-5 and take Exit 88B (Aberdeen). Follow Hwy 12 through Rochester, Oakville, Porter and Malone. Upon entering Elma turn left on Hwy 8. Take the next exit and turn left over the freeway. Turn right on Wenzelslough road. Park is a 1/4 mile on the right. (see map)
OTHER INFO: 4th annual holiday event. Enjoy lots of postrace food such as ham, turkey and cheese sandwiches, along with donuts, cookies, crackers and other goodies. There will also be cold bottled water and soda to drink at the finish. RESULTS: Will be posted at www.ontherunevents.com and www.racecenter.com.
