CINCINNATI, OH - (October 18, 2000) - Olympian, best-selling author and Runner's World columnist Jeff Galloway will head up the 3rd Annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon's Official Training Program. Galloway will be in Cincinnati to kick off the training program on November 14, 2000, at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Cincinnati. This event is free and open to anyone, from the novice to the experienced 2 - 3 hour marathoner, interested in training and running a successful and injury free marathon.

Galloway is known for being an average teenage runner who became an Olympian. His innovative training ideas have opened up the possibility of running and completing a marathon to almost everyone. Philosophically, Galloway believes that everyone is designed to run and walk, and he keeps finding ways to bring more people in the positive world of exercise. His low mileage run/walk training program prepares people for an incredible achievement. This program has an over 98% success rate.

The training program in Cincinnati will start with an open question and answer session on November 14, 2000, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a 2-hour overview from Jeff Galloway, along with local training director Suzelle Snowden, on the program, its benefits and schedule.

The training program cost is $149 for new members or $99 for alumni members. The program will also include a personalized training schedule, Jeff Galloway's new Marathon! textbook, weekly group runs, Jeff Galloway's Training Journal, one official program CoolMax singlet, one official program cotton T-shirt, one year subscription or renewal to Runner's World magazine, a one year membership to the American Running Association (ARA), discounts on Jeff Galloway's Running Retreats, discounts on personal training software from PC Coach, 2001 Flying Pig Marathon training calendar, Flying Pig Marathon travel mug, clinics on relevant topics, not to mention the group support and social aspect of the program. There is no cost for attending the November 14th event.

For additional information on this training program in Cincinnati, contact Suzelle Snowden at (859) 341-0830, or visit www.jeffgalloway.com , www.runinjuryfree.com , or www.fitbodiesinc.com . Anyone can register from the website, by phone, or in person at the kick off event.

The third running of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon will be Sunday, May 6, 2001. Entry forms are available at the Marathon office, or runners may apply on-line via the website at www.flyingpigmarathon.com or download an application from the website and mail it in. All individual registrations received on-line or postmarked by January 15, 2001, receive an individual entry fee rate of $45.00. Registrations received prior to April 15, 2001 are $55.00/entry and $75.00 thereafter until the 4th of May on-line or May 5th at the Health & Fitness Expo, if available. Corporate Relay entrants may also register on-line at the cost of $500.00/team.
