MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - (Dec. 18, 2000) - The Twin Cities Marathon is pleased to announce the
inaugural TCM Scholarship program as part of the 2000 TCM Charitable
designation. The scholarship awards $1,000 to one female and one male
student/athlete who will graduate this coming spring from high school.
TCM is currently accepting applications. Applicants must have a current
cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or above and have participated in cross
country and/or track running events of 800 meters or longer. Eligible
candidates must attend a high school in the Twin Cities 7-county metro area.
All applicants will receive a certificate of recognition. Selection criteria
are academic performance, community service, running accomplishments and an
essay. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2001.
Scholarships will be awarded at the TCM Registration Kick-off party on May 1,
2001.

Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. is a non-profit organization that directs the Twin
