Important event information for the Spring Classic Half-Marathon, 10 Miles,10K. 5K, 1 mile, Duathlon & Kids Mini-Du, April 24, 2005

TIME: Runs: 10:00 a.m. Kids Du: 1:45 p.m. Duathlon: 2:00 p.m .
PLACE: Olympia, WA @ Millerslyvania State Park (see map)  
DISTANCE: 13.1, 10, 6.2, 3.1, 1 miles. Duathlon: 1 mile run, 11 mile bike, 1 mile run. Kids du: 25 yard run, 1 mile bike, 25 yard run.
COURSE: WALKERS ARE OK IN THE RUNNING RACES!!! The Half-Marathon, 10 Miles and 10K is out and back with a couple of rolling hills but nothing big. Aide stations with water and gatorade every 1 1/2 miles. The 5K is out and back all flat with one small hill at the turnaround. The 1 mile is all flat inside the park. DUATHLON: Both RUNS are all flat on paved trails in the park. The BIKE course is out and back on scenic, paved, country roads with some rolling hills but nothing big. KIDS DU: All flat inside the park. INDIVIDUALS OR 2/3 PERSON TEAMS!!!!! All courses are perfect for beginners or veterans.
AGE GROUPS: 0-5, 6-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 up. Team divisions in the duathlon of male, female and co-ed.
ENTRY FEES: See entry form. Packet pickup for the runs start at 8:30 a.m. and goes until 10:45 a.m. The Duathlon pick up starts at 12:30 p.m and goes until 1:45 p.m. ONLINE SIGN UP at www.signmeup.com.

 

AWARDS: Overall winners of all races will receive trophies in the running races. Top 3 in 5 year age groups will receive special 2005 neck medals. The top 3 overall in the duathlon, male and female will receive trophies. Top 3 in 5 year age groups will receive Spring Classic neck medals. All finishers will receive medals of the KIDS RACE. NOTE: If you don't receive an age group award you will receive a finisher medal. Also team divisions of male, female and co-ed.
T-SHIRTS: All entrants will receive a designer Spring Classic short sleeve shirt unless the no t-shirt option is checked. You can also upgrade to a longsleeve shirt or sweatshirt. Or you can order an extra short sleeve shirt. All garments are 100 percent cotton and are preshrunk. Sizes are small, medium, large, extra large.
DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS: From I-5 north or south take exit 95 and head east toward Maytown. Follow to Tilley Road S. and turn left. Go to state park entrance and turn left. Follow past the campgrounds and look for signs to the start/finish area. PARKING FEE: All Washington state parks charge a $5 per vehicle parking fee, unless you have an annual parking pass.

OTHER INFO: 2nd annual event with lots of postrace food. There will be hot chili, turkey, ham, cheese sandwiches. There will also be bottled water, soda, hot cider and coffee to drink after the race. HOT SHOWERS: Are available in the campgrounds, bring a couple of quarters and a towel. RESULTS: Will be available at www.ontherunevents.com, www.nwrunner.com and www.racecenter.com.
